About

Cairns is situated in tropical North Queensland of Australia which has some of the most pristine reef flats right on our door step. some of our closer reefs are only a 45min run from the boat ramp. We offer fly trips or convental casting. small stick baits and poppers along with soft plastics is such a visual way to catch speicies such as coral Trout, chinamen, Red Bass and GT's just to name a few.

nothing beats the extictment of seeing a big coral trout chase down your lure in 3 feet of water.

Trip Dates

All though offer these trips all year they are very weather dependant. ideal conditions are under 10 knots of wind. December through till the end of January are very good times of the year to insure better chance of good weather.

Departures

We depart from cairns or port Douglass. depending on accommodation location we will pick you up from your accommodation. we then tow the boat and launch closest to the reefs we would like to fish. pick up times vary slightly with tides but around 7am you will be picked up and dropped back to your accommodation around 5:30pm.

vessel

for our inshore trips we use our HEWES light tackle 20 which is an absolute flats weapon. anyone that is familiar with the hewes reputations will understand, but there variable dead-rise gives it a great ride in the chop along with skinny water capabilities. forward decks have lean posts for stability while casting. 175hp Yamaha vmax gets to the spots nice and fast and an 80lb motor guide on the front assist with motoring around the flats with silence. being a surveyed vessel means we carry all the necessary saftey equipment to put the mind at ease.

not included,

alcohol although welcome to bring it.

also terminal tackle ie stick baits and poppers are available, but will be charged for what's lost. a list of what we have onboard and what costs will be provided upon bookings.
